Burners

Burners have many uses, one of which is in fired reheaters, another is for incineration of effluent destined for the stack. Performance specifications include temperature change, outlet temperature and heat flux, and pressure specifications of pressure drop, outlet pressure and pressure drop (as calculated by scaling from a reference value). By default, the extents of reaction are calculated on the assumption of equilibrium or partial approach to equilibrium. However, for acid-gas-fired reheaters, H2S conversion by thermal splitting and by partial oxidation followed by Claus reaction are both calculated. Calculations also include tempering steam and reporting is done on the basis of combustion product composition and emission factors for the pollutants SO2, CO2, NOX, CO, THC, CH4, N2O, PM (Total), PM 2.5µ, PM 10µ, VOC and TOC.
