Dr. Ralph H. Weiland

Ralph has been active in basic and applied research in gas treating since 1964. He received B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto, followed by two years as a post-doctoral fellow in applied mathematics at the University of Western Australia. He was co-developer with Dr. Sivasubramanian of an early version of the mass transfer rate-based model for amine columns and commercialized its concepts in the pre-Windows software packages, GasPlant and GasPlant-Plus. He spent 10 years as Principal Research Engineer with Koch-Glitsch L.P., Dallas, TX, developing new tray products including the ULTRA-FRAC® tray and has spent the last 17 years working on and directing the development of the ProTreat™ simulator.
